Arapaho Pedestrian Trail

Arapaho Pedestrian Trail

Arapaho Pedestrian Trail is a half-mile trail that begins at the corner of Arapaho and Addison Road.  It is easily accessible from the parking lot located at the NW corner across from Perry’s.

The trail takes you west on Arapaho.  Halfway through,  it splits into two trails -  one will take you across the Arapho bridge and the other will loop under taking you east on Arapaho.  If you choose the bridge, you’ll travel along the busy Arapaho Road and get a really cool view of Addison and Dallas.  The trail eventually stops at the end of the bridge.  You can keep walking, but at this point you’re no longer on a trail and heading into the business area.  If you take the loop around, you’ll go under Arapaho and head east toward Addison Road.   Along the way you’ll come to small park area with hills.   Climb to the top of any of them to watch the sunset.  Because it is located at the end of Addison Airport, this is the perfect spot to watch the planes takeoff and land too.

I really enjoyed this trail.  It’s well lit and has emergency phone booths posted along the way.  And of course, it’s clean.  Even when I went under the bridge there wasn’t any trash, graffiti or troll waiting for me!  I also loved running up and down hills like a 7 year old.  I can’t front, it was fun!
