JC’s Burger House
While I try to stay away from chains and franchises, this is a small local one, so I am going to include this. Plus, who doesn’t love hamburgers?
Food. Their 1/4 bacon cheeseburger was overflowing with bacon, which is always a good thing. The meat was flavorful and juicy, but not too greasy. It was a good burger.
The chicken fried steak sandwich was pretty big. It was a generous piece of tender steak battered and fried to perfection with fresh veggie toppings. I was pleasantly surprised.
They use fresh, average size burger buns that go nicely with whatever meat you choose.
You can have your potatoes any way: steak cut, tater tots, etc. But who wants that when you can order the “To Die For” cheese fries? With a medic team on standby, I took the plunge. Thankfully, I did not perish by the potato (my arteries will argue otherwise), but I will mention they were very generous with the melted cheddar cheese and real bacon. Definitely worth ordering because this was very good. The half order is enough for two people.
Fried pickles. Not all fried pickles are the same. Sometimes you get the thick cut with thin breading, breading that slides off, breading that isn’t flavorful, soggy pickles…you know what I mean. I really like the fried pickles here. The breading was spicy and really encased the firm pickles. The breading held up to numerous Ranch dressing dips. Me likey.
Atmosphere. Casual and comfortable. There’s plenty of seating inside.
Service. Prompt and friendly.
Their menu offers lots of variety from salads to triple hamburgers. You can get a malt or shake to wash down your guilt too. This place is definitely worth visiting.
