Food.  Hummus is one of those things that differs from restaurant to restaurant.  So I try not to compare it to the last Mediterranean restaurant I went to.  The hummus at Sidewalk is creamy and pretty good.  I like the extra virgin olive oil they drizzle on top.

The Greek salad was fresh and had all the makings of a great Greek salad except for the most important part – the dressing.  It was Italian :(   Come on, that’s just wrong!

The Chicken Kabob Platter was served with lots of peppers, mushrooms, and onions.  The meat was slightly spicy and tender.  The fluffy Basmati rice was my favorite part of the dish.  The tzatziki sauce was heavily flavored with lemon, almost making it too tart.  I like it more balanced where I can taste all the other flavors, but the consistency was nice.

The Chicken Avocado Dream Panini wasn’t exactly my dream, but for a sandwich it was good.  The chicken tasted like the chicken on the kabob platter.  The bread was soft and the avocado was fresh.

Atmosphere.  The location makes it a perfect spot to grab a bite.  It’s casual and laid back with plenty of seating inside, but limited seating outside.

Service.  Friendly and prompt.  I’ve been a few times and have never had to wait very long for my food.

Everything was freshly prepared and tasted good.  I wasn’t blown away by anything in particular, but  it was decent.  Sidewalk Cafe serves breakfast (limited), lunch, and dinner.  Aside from a few dishes, there aren’t many vegetarian options.  They also offer beer, wine, and hookahs.  It didn’t satisfy my Mediterranean cravings 100%, but it was sufficient.  With most entrees under $10, it’s hard not to give this place a try.  Check them out if you’re in the area!
