Kenny’s Wood Fired Grill

Kenny’s Wood Fired Grill

Kenny’s specializes in seafood and steak.  They have a “no policy” policy which means they’ll do whatever they can to make the dining experience more enjoyable.  I like this place already ;)

Food.  First our waiter brought out this gigantic mutated looking muffin called a popover (pictured above).  It would give the Pillsbury Doughboy an inferiority complex.  It’s delicious and sort of reminds me of a croissant.  Slather some butter on it and you’ll reach Nirvana.

I know, I know!  I should have got a steak but I chose the bacon and egg burger with smoked bacon, American cheese, and bearnaise.  The egg and bearnaise combination was just delicious.   It’s not for everyone and I struggle with the right words to describe the taste.  It’s like a really good burger with a salty kick.

The Adult Mac N Cheese with smoked Gouda, ham, and white truffle oil was sublime.  It’s creamy, comforting, and crazy-good!  It’ll be hard not to order this again.

Tonight’s special was carne asada and all I can say is wow.  The steak was perfectly cooked and the sauce was delicious.  It just melted in my mouth.

Service.  Great service.  Very attentive.

Atmosphere.  Kenny’s website sums it up perfectly ” reminiscent of a 1940’s Chicago style chophouse with a classy, relaxed and warm atmosphere…”

Kenny’s is all about the quality and worth every penny.  It’s on the pricey side with limited menu options under $10.  If you’re worried about breaking the bank, try them at lumch for reduced prices.  Reservations are recommended but you’ll get a table without any problem if you go late.   Parking can be a pain so be prepared to drive around, and around, and around for a while if you go during the dinner rush.  Valet is available on the weekends.
