Bahamas Bound, Yea Baby!

Bahamas Bound, Yea Baby!

Every year we take a vacation out of the country.  It’s the one thing that is non-negotiable.  We will Ramen Noodle it up like you can’t imagine if it means we will be somewhere on a beach later.  It’s always worth it.  Last year it was St. Lucia, and tomorrow we leave for…wait for it…wait for it…The Bahamas!  I’m so excited!

I’ll be away for a bit, but will return with great pictures and, of course, fantastic food finds.  I’m all about street food and small dives so this should be interesting.  I can’t wait!

Earlier today we decided to purchase snorkeling equipment from a local sports store.  When we got home I tried mine on and they were fine.  M’s fins were too tight and initially he decided to keep it because he didn’t want to go through the trouble of exchanging it.  He kept them on to see if he could get used to it, but after 5 minutes his foot fell asleep and he quickly had a change of heart.  The store didn’t have a bigger size so he called around until he found one at a neighboring city.

On his way back from the store he called and said he got 1/2 our money back.  What?!  He explained that the receipt showed 1 item but the total price of 2 items.  Basically the first cashier couldn’t get both items to ring up so she entered 1 for the price of 2.  When M swapped one out at the second store, the cashier scanned the receipt  and gave him money back.  M pointed out that it’s an even exchange and that he is not supposed to get money back.  Confused she called the manager over and he verified everything.  However, each time he scanned the receipt it kept showing a credit so he honored it.  How often does that happen?  See Sarah Connor, not all machines are out for your son.  Some just want to give you money ;)

This trip is already off to a great start.  I’m so ecstatic and feel like I could burst!  I know I won’t sleep tonight and my flight leaves at 6 a.m. tomorrow (sobs).

Bon Voyage!
